Why toda?
Every conversation, workflow, preference, and decision made with AI creates data that could be useful later.
Today, most of it gets trapped in a chat history, buried in a company database, or lost when you switch products. You create the context, but the product keeps the memory.
toda exists to change that.
AI data should belong to the people who create it
A consumer should be able to carry their history from one assistant to another. A business should be able to build a private knowledge base from its own work. A developer should be able to give a product useful memory without rebuilding the same data layer again. An agent should be able to continue where it left off.
The use cases are different. The missing layer is the same.
Memory becomes infrastructure
Once AI data can be captured, kept, and reused, it stops being leftover chat history. It becomes infrastructure.
That can mean:
- personal context that works across AI products
- company knowledge that stays under company control
- datasets that people can validate and improve together
- memory that software and agents can read with permission
- useful data that can be exchanged without giving up everything else
This starts as a better way to keep AI data. It can grow into a full memory layer with recall, search, permissions, collaboration, and a memory exchange built into the same network.
Private does not mean isolated
toda keeps raw data private by default. The network can use onchain records to manage ownership, access, and staking signals without putting private conversations on a public ledger.
You choose what stays personal, what gets shared, and what may eventually enter the memory market.
That is the point: AI memory should be portable enough to use, private enough to trust, and open enough to build on.
Further out, persistent memory can support AI with stronger world models, metacognition, embodiment, and an identity that continues across sessions. toda is not claiming conscious AI. It is building one of the foundations that more capable AI will need.
